Good evening,
I’ve recently revised and updated the route-building tutorial for BVE / openBVE. My main goal was to make it more accessible and user-friendly than the official documentation, which, while thorough, can be difficult to follow if you don’t already have a technical background. The new version breaks things down step by step, uses plain language, and focuses on practical examples, so that anyone with a bit of curiosity can give route creation a try.
The tutorial also highlights some of the most common pitfalls beginners run into and offers tips on how to avoid them. I’ve tried to keep the balance between being informative and not overwhelming, so it should be useful both as an introduction and as a quick reference later on.
You can find the tutorial in the Developing Guides section of the Brno BVE Website. I would be very happy to hear your thoughts, suggestions, or corrections — whether it’s something to add, something unclear, or ideas for future topics. Please feel free to share your feedback on the BVE Worldwide forum.
I hope this will encourage more people to experiment with building their own routes and objects, and to contribute to keeping the BVE community active and creative.
Thank you,
D.
